I've been passionate about personal productivity my whole life. I discovered David Seah and his Emergent Task Timer PDF at the beginning of 2008. Within weeks of starting to use David's printed worksheets to discover how I was using my time, I realized I wanted to take emergent task timing to the web. I knew that I could build on the idea and make it more convenient and useful. I wrote the skeletal core of BubbleTimer in March of 2008 (football season was over), and I've used it everyday since then. BubbleTimer was launched to the world 6 busy months later in October of 2008.

Snooty Monkey, LLC

Snooty Monkey, LLC is a collective of software developers and design professionals started in 2007 by Sean Johnson in the town of Chapel Hill, NC. Snooty Monkey exists for three reasons:

  1. To create applications that solve a problem in a simple, intuitive and polished way.
  2. To provide on outlet for software craftsmen to serve people that appreciate the craft of good software.
  3. To inspire other small software businesses as I've been inspired by the small businesses of Chapel Hill.

If you have an idea or a project (and some funding for it!) and you think you might like to have Snooty Monkey involved, please contact me and we can discuss it.

I got a Commodore VIC-20 computer for Christmas when I was 6 (which was a long time ago) and ever since I've spent a portion of most everyday designing and writing software. These days I use Macintoshes, not Commodores, and my passion for good user experience and simplicity in software has only grown stronger over the years.

I'm a father, a husband, a lacrosse goalie... and I dabble in philosophy. (See that deeply ponderous look?)

I'm eager to hear from you, both BubbleTimer fans and detractors alike. What is BubbleTimer doing well? What could be better? Don't hesitate to contact me.
